An excellent way of life
Located in the direct vicinity of forest, meadow and the IJssel River with its beautiful flood plains, at the edge of the centre of the beautiful village Gorssel, is this thatched villa in manor style, architecturally constructed in 2002 (total plot 2,270 m2) .
The surrounding garden has an atmospheric, symmetrical set-up, just like the house itself, and this results in a pleasant and harmonious appearance. After going through the middle path of the amazingly landscaped front yard, flanked on both sides with box pyramids, rhododendrons and catalpa trees, the house-wide platform provides the access to the house at a higher situated part. The vestibule, with stained glass windows and the original French terracotta tiles stretching to the hall, immediately show clearly that luxury prevails here. The spacious hall is the centre of the house. The crafted oak stairs with ornamental ironwork provides extra allure. All quarters exit into the hall, but are also connected to each other in such a way that they flow into each other and create a natural loop. The kitchen diner is located right from the hall, and includes all modern appliances, including a very luxurious 8-burner Lacanche stove. There is an oak parquet on the floor which characterises all rooms. In the passage to the dining room you can find an extra door with access to the stairs of the royal basement and the hallway to the garage. The house-wide basement has a storage space where the central vacuuming system has been installed. Furthermore, there are two large quarters which can be set-up as a fitness area, home cinema, guest accommodation, play rooms and/or office. The spacious living room located at the back of the house connects to the dining room. A good example of the atmospheric, modest luxury are the robust, French, sandstone fireplaces with special wood stoves (also possible to use as a fireplace) that are present in both rooms. Furthermore, through the use of lots of glass and French doors, a gorgeous view on the sunny porch and the large backyard is offered from both rooms. Keeping the idea of symmetry in mind, the (heated) swimming pool with various (sunny and shaded) beautiful green terraces is positioned centrally in the garden. In addition, the garden features an electric pump/sprinkler-installation with private source.
From the living room the passage through the sliding doors as part of the bookcase wall forms an optimal atmosphere impression of the office. On the upper floor there is the master bedroom with next to it the dressing room and additionally the atmospheric bathroom with skylight. The bathroom has a built-in Jacuzzi, designer washstands, a double shower and a complete Finnish sauna. There are also another three bedrooms on this floor, of which two come with a shared walk-in closet, and a second bathroom and a toilet. All rooms feature custom shutters.
There is access to the integral, double garage from the kitchen through a hallway. This garage provides room for 2 cars as well as storage possibilities and connections for a washing machine and dryer. There is a wide driveway with an electrically operated access gate in front of the garage. The house is further excellently maintained including recent major maintenance of the thatched roof, optimal insulation and well secured.
